Windows 8 is the code name of next operating system of Microsoft Windows. The operating system has support for ARM microprocessors along with traditional x86 microprocessors from Intel and AMD. Windows 8 user interface (UI) has been changed to make it better suitable for touchscreen devices/input in addition to the traditional mouse and keyboard input.
Currently, Windows 8 Developer Preview is available for download for everyone, although this release is for developers, but you can definitely give this new operating system a try (Make sure you read the Important Note at the end of this post)!

16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
